Minutes 12-5-07

Team WANT Minutes

12-5-07

Attendees:     Troy, Gina, Seanne, Karen, Barb

This was our first call using the new conference bridge.  Not only was the connection improved; the call was recorded, as well, for your listening pleasure.

I.                Housekeeping

a.      Website News:  Pictures from the first and best retreat are on the website – take a look!

b.     A user manual for the new conference bridge, Basement Ventures, has been posted on the website.

II.              Best Thing Since Last We Met

Gina – for two days in a row she has had negative encounters with people.  She realized that she has a choice and can choose whether or not to be "dragged down."  She has taken the first step toward Not.

Seanne – she will be visiting her mom this weekend and was feeling guilty about delaying her arrival for something personal.  She had an epiphany and came up with a way to ease her guilt and make her mom happy.  Send a laptop to Santa Barbara early via private airplane.  It worked!

Karen – What made Karen happy this week was someone else's happiness, namely Doug.  Doug saw a doctor about the pain in his Achilles tendon and found out that it is entirely treatable and he will still be able to play hockey.

Barb – like Gina, realized that she is being "dragged down" by negative energy from a particular individual at work.  She has made progress on ignoring the negativity and refusing to give power to this individual.  Kill 'em with kindness!

Troy had his first prostate test today and was told he has the prostate of a teenager J  Great news for someone with a high-risk family history.

Gina made an observation – all of our good things are under our control.  We are not waiting for our destiny to find us or for someone to make us happy; we are making our own choices and decisions!

III.            Review of Successful Outcome Statements

We all reviewed the SOS's that we worked on at the retreat and found that we had several different views on exactly how these should be written and what they should include.  It was discussed that possibly we need to complete a Purpose Statement first.  SO, here is your homework – please complete the Purpose (aka Mission) Statement process on pages 8-12 of your workbooks prior to our next meeting.  Feel free to contact your accountabilibuddies (ABBs) for assistance or ideas along the way.

Buddy teams are:

1.     Karen, Barb, Doug L., Troy

2.     Gina, Seanne, Jim, Doug H.

(Kitty – please touch base with Gina or Troy for a quick catch up)

In the meantime, Troy and Gina will continue their research on SOSs.

IV.       Miscellaneous Discussion

This was a great meeting because we are all clarifying the processes that can be powerful tools to keeping us excited and motivated.

Seanne had a great idea for her vision board pictures.  She is going to organize a binder with tabs for her WANT categories.  She will glue her pictures to individual pages so that she and add or remove them at any time.  This allows her WANT book to continually evolve.  Great idea, huh?

V.              Next Meeting

Our next meeting is scheduled for Saturday, January 12, 2008 at 10:30 a.m.  Anyone who can or will be in Newport Beach at that time is invited to meet in person at Gina's.

W.A.N.T. Meeting Minutes

November 20, 2007

Present:          Gina, Barb, Seanne, Doug H., Karen H., Troy, Jim

Miscellaneous comments:

WANT members apparently have not been checking the website for minutes and information on the dates and times of future meetings.  In the future, I will be posting the minutes on the blog as well as directly emailing members advising of the next meeting date.

We seem to be experiencing intermittent problems with the conference bridge so Gina has volunteered to research other options.

I.                WANT Group Hello

The best thing that happened to each of us since last we met:

Barb held a successful meeting with her team at work identifying her specific needs and expectations from them.

Doug and Karen spent some quality time with Doug's mom and are happy to report that she (mom-in-law) is much improved.  She has regained her "magic legs."  Yeah!!

On the wonderful topic of moms, Seanne's mom is doing well with her treatments.  Her recent biopsy showed completely clean!  Another yeah!!

Troy now has two more employees to assist at work, allowing him more time.  He can now "focus part-time on my job and full-time on my future."

Jim was provided with a rough date of openings for two promotions to captain positions.  He will test for the opportunity in mid-January.  We will all visualize "Captain Jim."

Gina spent some intense time brainstorming with Troy and in the process discovered some new approaches for her business Fit For Good.  She has a definite direction and will be working on a draft business plan during the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.

II.              Discussion of the upcoming Retreat/ Initial Agenda

Gina and Troy have generously donated their time and effort to put together a great itinerary for the upcoming retreat.  In recognition of this, the rest of us have volunteered to plan and obtain the food & drink for the weekend.  We will all pitch in equally on the cost.

A.    Friday Night (member arrivals at various times)

Planned dinner – take out from PF Changs.  Friday night dinner will provide an opportunity for an open forum where WANT members are encouraged to chat about themselves and their struggles and successes in a relaxed environment.

B.    Saturday (9 am – 6 pm)

Discussion of four objectives:

1.               Fun

2.               Getting specific in what we want and why (motivation)

3.               Getting more specific based on the WHY

4.               Creating a process for identifying our wants, getting them, and how to know when we have succeeded

Discussion of Rules

Vision Boarding

Belief Systems

Purpose Statements

Future-Paced Closed-Eye Process

More Vision Boarding

Saturday evening will involve a celebration of victories in the work that we have done.  The "Come as you will be" event has been postponed.  We plan to order take out from Tony Romas.

C.    Sunday (9 am – 3:30 pm)

Discussion of a model to help you get what you want

Free time/working lunch

Future business planning

Closing

Minutes 11-7-07

W.A.N.T. Meeting Minutes

November 7, 2007

Present:          Gina, Barb, Seanne, Doug H., Troy, Jim

Miscellaneous Business:

1.               Troy had some trouble dialing into the Conference Bridge.  Gina has a recommendation from a friend and will look into other options, including one that may audio record our phone calls.

2.               We tested Skype on Seanne's computer and found that it worked well in a group environment.  We will use this for some processes at the upcoming Retreat.

I.                WANT Group Hello

The best thing that happened to each of us since last we met:

Doug H finished his largest project to date under his own lead.  The project went extremely well and will mean lots of revenue for the company.  He is now a member of the "$600k club."

Barb tapped into resources from Rapport's Power Communications class and successfully returned home from "pity city."

Seanne has been struggling with a problem at work and found that after disengaging for a short period of time and allowing herself to address her anger and frustration she could come back and be happy and productive.

Gina is living "in the moment" and listening to the little voice that speaks to her.  She was on a flight home from LAS that was delayed.  Her little voice said "get off the plane and try again tomorrow," which she did.  Soon after, the flight was cancelled and she was already settled for the night while the rest of the passengers were still battling for new itineraries.

Troy has become focused and is living in the moment.  He is on track with his Life Mastery goals and the answers and opportunities are coming fast.  He is feeling an energy shift.  And for all of us . . . he has learned of some new wines from New Zealand that he will share with us if we choose J

Jim just returned from a 10-day cruise with his mother and two brothers.  It was a great opportunity for them all to reconnect and share with one another.  Jim and his older brother found a mutual respect for each other.

II.              Discussion of the upcoming Retreat

A.    Agenda

Troy placed 10 items on the WANT webpage and asked for our input in ranking the level of importance of these items.  This was to be submitted by Friday 11/9 so I hope you all participated!

B.    What outcomes are we looking for?

Gina – Excitement and recharging.  To further define what I want and how to get it and to help others with the same.

Troy – To get back that experience that we had in Lake Arrowhead (Troy, Barb & Gina) where we were passionate about what we wanted and we helped each other to refine our Wants.

Barb – To recharge and refocus in person.  Some of my goals are changing and I would like to redefine and seek feedback.

Jim – To refocus on Wants and seed guidance and direction.

Seanne – Seek manifestation of what we do on our phone calls.

Doug H – To refocus and "rededicate myself to who I always was."

C.    Logistics

Kitty will not be able to join the Retreat in LAS.  She supports us all and we will miss her!

Seanne has confirmed that Tony Roma's delivers.  Yeah!  We will have a great dinner on Saturday night at our COME AS YOU WILL BE event.

Please submit your special requests for groceries to Barb, Seanne, Karen or Doug H.  We will pick up supplies upon our arrival early Friday evening.

III.            Next Meeting

Our next meeting is scheduled for:

Tuesday, November 20 at 7:00 p.m. PST

22 Oct 07 Minutes

Kitty, Troy, Seanne, Gina

Best thing that has happened since our last meeting:

Kitty -  The USDA in Buirns, Or has hired her to do 2 half day programs (on the same day) for her biggest fee so far!!  Also pending is another government gig in Burns, OR - she's working on it and we are sure she will do her very best!  Way to go Kitty!

Troy - Went to see Elton John in LV all by himself - he said the music was wonderful - the visuals left a little to be desired.  He also stayed at the Alexis Park Hotel - where we will be holding our Retreat in December - and said he liked the room and the staff was friendly and helpful.  We are looking forward to this time we will all spend together - so thanks, Troy, for thinking of staying there to check it out for us!

Seanne - Her dad was in town and he brought 6 photo albums from Seanne's grandmother - who passed away when Seanne was one year old.  Seanne's grandpa was in the military and traveled all over the world - so these pictures are very special to Seanne.  Bruce (Seanne's dad) left the albums with Seanne and we know they will be a great source of comfort and happiness for her.

Gina - We had Thanksgiving dinner at our house on Sunday night and Tom's co-pilot - Mike brought his girlfriend Shawnee along.  She is a really positive and energetic lady and it is always fun for me to get to know new wonderful people!  By the way - Shawnee is pregnant and is due in February - so, I'll get to know yet another wonderful person!!

We spent time discussing the Retreat and here's a recap:

Barb, Seanne, Karen and Doug H. are flying in and out of LAX - they arrive at 4:30 (LV) on Friday afternoon and depart on Sunday at 6:30 p.m.
Jim arrives into LV at around 8:30 p.m. we don't have his return info - as he was unable to be on this call
Gina will already be in LV - and will finish working and be at the hotel by 7:00 p.m. I haven't booked my return flight yet.

We don't have info for Kitty, Doug L. or Troy yet.

Troy, Barb and Seanne will shop for food and other supplies and pick up dinner for Fri. p.m. when they arrive.  We are thinking PF Changs at our hotel.

Breakfasts and lunch for Saturday - we are talking about fruit, cheese, crackers, sliced deli meat and anything else anyone wants.

For our 'Come as you will be' party on Saturday night - we are checking to see if Tony Roma's delivers.

We are asking that everyone contributes a certain amount of money for the food, supplies and wine for the weekend and we talked about the $50.00 a piece range.  If there is anything special anyone wants let us know at the date gets closer and we'll put it on the list.

Troy suggested that I take another look at the suite at Alexis Park and compare it to the 'Crown' suite - that may save me and Kitty some money and still be plenty big to host all of our indoor events.  I'll do that on my next trip to LV - next week.

Also, for the 'Come as you will be' party - we are suggesting that anyone dress up in the appropriate clothes for 'what/where you will be' and do some research with regard to details.  Let's discuss this more in our next meeting.

We also talked about new 60 day goals:

Kitty:  Evolve my business from a traiing company to a consulting company so that she can get longer term and larger contracts and not have to work so hard to get those occasional big gigs.
Her specific actions she will be taking:

Create a web presence with a consultative focus
Establish relationships with at least 15 potential contacts
Let the clients in my database know of this shift in business focus, and ask for referrals
Deliver at least one comp teleseminar and advertise that to all clients in gov't agencies and their contacts

Gina:  Put together a draft business plan for my fitness business, 'Fit for Good' by 12/20/07.  Among other things, this will include:

Getting my certifications
Timelines
Budgets
My values and mission and (possibly) vision stmt.
Checking out my competition
Deciding how I will begin to target my clients
Figuring out how I will structure this - ex:  seeing clients in person, supporting them on line with newsletters - setting up accountability processes

Seanne:  With so much going on and the extraordinary demands she has on her right now - she is working very hard to finish this year still 'being Seanne' - PS - the fun, supportive, creative Seanne that we all know and love!

Troy:  His long term goal is to leave his county job by 2009 - to be so successful in his other businesses that he won't need the money from this job anymore!

Also, his previous 60 day goal was to 'be OK with me'.  His solo trip to LV to see Elton John gave him the further insight that he wants to be going and doing what HE wants to do.  For example:  Going to NYC at Christmas and going to Italy in October of next year.  In the past, he said, if he couldn't find anyone to go with him he just wouldn't go - from now on - if no one wants to go with him - he's going to go and do it anyway!!

Doug Leal emailed and told us that the excitement of the terrible wildfires near his house distracted him from our phone call.  Doug we are all with you in our hearts and hope you and your family continue to be safe.

Barb was unable to be on our call due to being evacuated from her home on Sunday night - Barb we love you very much and you know that - just as you relied on Seanne for a place to stay - you can count on all of us to do what ever it takes to make sure we are all safe and happy.

Jim is on a great vacation with his family - a once in a lifetime opportunity - we can hardly wait to hear about it at our next meeting.

OUR NEXT MEETING WILL BE HELD ON NOVEMBER 7, 2007.

Doug and Karen - what you get when you miss a meeting is that we open YOUR house to anyone who wants to attend the meeting!  :-)  Actually, there was a discussion about the pour quality of communication due to the speaker phone we are using at my (Gina's) house and Seanne is going to connect her SKYPE to her computer and we are going to see if that will be any better.  Apparently, this connection can't be made from inside my (Gina's) house.

HOMEWORK:

Be aware of opportunitiers of things we can do to get to our goals - lookin at resources that are all around us - jot down several examples of these and share them at the next meeting.  (for example:  I was watching Good Morning America this morning and there was an article about on line businesses - part of my exercise business will be on line - and that you can get ads from Google and they will pay you for each hit - great way to make $$ with my business!)

Also, consider how we can help each other with resources to get to our goals - jot down those resources and again we'll share them at our next meeting

Also, let's start firming up our travel plans for the Retreat and figure out any special requests for eats

At the next meeting - let's also discuss how we can prepare for the 'Come as you will be' party to get maximum inspiration, fun and learning from it!

Get new 60 day goals from those that could't make it to this meeting

WANT Meeting Minutes 10-10-07

W.A.N.T. Meeting Minutes
October 10, 2007

Present:          Gina, Barb, Seanne, Karen, Doug H., Doug L., Kitty

I.                WANT Group Hello

The best thing that happened to each of us since last we met:  Doug L empowered his staff—they all wrote and presented a summary of their jobs over the last month.  Some did better than others but they all realized they need each other to succeed.
Gina reconnected with a friend of 31 years that she hasn't seen in 8 years!  Seanne made plans to support her friend in the MS bike ride.  She was afraid it would conflict with her mother's treatment and it did not J  Kitty is in the process of closing two new contracts and last Sunday she decided she would make $1,000 in the next week and had accomplished this goal within 45 minutes.  Karen has admired the ability of a colleague to plan her vacations well in advance.  Taking this lead Karen is planning her first ski trip to Mammoth in November.  Doug H did a good deed—his team has been working very hard on a project and they were "attacked" via email by a supervisor.  Doug provided additional information and defended his team.  The result was a happy team and an apology from the "attacker."  Barb connected with a dear friend who is feeling blue.  She was able to secure a ticket using air miles (a real trick these days) and the friend will be visiting from Colorado soon.   Great job everyone!

II.              Our 60 Day Goals

1.     How are you progressing toward your goal?
2.     What lessons have you learned in the process?
3.     What did you do right?
4.     What can you change or do better in the future?
5.     What WANTS, if any, have you changed or added during this process?

Gina didn't meet her specific financial goals though she learned a great deal over the last 60 days.  She has boosted her self-esteem through her ability to say "no."  She realized she doesn't have to ask permission to feel good about this.  "This was ten times better than achieving the goal."

Barb found that on some days she had achieved the goal of the 3 Ps and on other days experienced setbacks.  In order to know that you have achieved a goal, it must be specific and measurable.  Some goals are ongoing and one must remember to focus on what you have control over and let go of what you don't.  We control how we react and respond to external stimuli.

Doug L achieved most of his goal.  The 401(k) plan is prepared but cannot begin until January 1, 2008.  The health insurance program was offered to employees with little participation.  Doug learned from his employees and will go back to the drawing board to make the program more attractive.  He delegated the arrangement of the programs to his new HR representative who did an outstanding job.  Doug learned that through delegation he could accomplish a great deal without losing time for his other work.

Doug H learned that outside influences can create a roadblock to reaching your goal.  He achieved two-thirds of his intended weight-loss goal and people are noticing!  The biggest challenge for Doug has been that changing his lunching habits goes against his "inner host."

Karen had planned to finish the remodel project on her bedroom.  Though the room is not complete she and Doug have made great progress.  They are no longer looking at insulation; they have walls!  She said they have made more progress in the last 60 days than they have in the last five years.

Kitty realized that while she cannot control how fast her potential clients make decisions, she can control how many contacts she makes.  If she focuses on this quantity, the additional business will come her way.

Seanne has made it "back to me!"  She has learned to control her need to control; meaning that she has come face-to-face with the challenge of not being able to control her schedule and commitments all the time.  She is learning to accept this and is making peace with it under the current circumstances.

It looks like all of us made great progress toward our WANTs and have learned a number of lessons in the process.

III.            Next Meeting

Our next meeting is scheduled for:
Monday, October 22 at 7:30 p.m.

For the Next Meeting:  Take a look at one of your long-term goals and consider short-term goals to achieve along the way.  You may "mesh" your 60-day WANT into a long-term WANT.  These short-term goals can help us to maintain the excitement as we approach our long-term goal.

Meeting Minutes from October 3, 2007

W.A.N.T. Meeting Minutes
October 3, 2007

Present: Gina, Barb, Seanne, Karen, Doug H., Doug L., Jim

I. WANT Group Hello

The best thing that happened to each of us since last we met: Doug L got his Arizona Contractor's License with Nevada not far behind; Barb laid out a plan for getting her next home in CA and eventually CO; Gina dreamed all about the WANT club and saw it as a "blond, blue-eyed, laughing child" with a great future; Karen reconnected with old friends at a Jimmy Buffet concert and set a new goal of maintaining relationships, she also met with a financial planner; Seanne talked to us through a new microphone on her computer using SKYPE, this is all set for our use in Las Vegas!; Jim is the project manager for a mobile CAD system and the $1.5 million project has gone live; Doug H reconnected with a dear friend and is also on track to have the best month (financially) in his 9 years at his job. Victories and congrats to all!

II. 25 Wants

What did we learn in the process of listing 25 Wants?

Jim felt his Wants might be "outlandish," yet when he began listing them no less than three people jumped in with ideas on how to help. Some of Jim's wants – deep sea fishing, acting as Troy's assistant when he becomes wealthy and travels, meet Joseph Wambaugh.

Doug L. had over 100 items on his list and found it challenging to limit it to just 25. Some of Doug's wants – drive the Chilean coastline, own a property management company, in 15 years have $15 million in savings, build a lake, and open a nursery in Mexico. Doug stated that in the past we have chosen to want things that we could touch. This process allows us to dream bigger and out further. Thinking big, we believe it and put energy into it—we can reach beyond what we can touch right now!

Doug H discovered that he likes nice things and likes to travel as many of his wants focused in these areas. He wants to have the financial stability to do what he wants. Some of Doug's wants – Safari in Africa, ride dog sleds to the Ice Hotel in Sweden, have a second home in Mammoth, and get his private pilot's license.

Karen found that her list was quite realistic and decided to list more wants that were "out there." A new one that came to mind was to own "Our Place" (the house that she and Doug admire when they cruise Newport Harbor).

Gina admitted "feeling such energy on this call, anticipating actual possibilities turning into realities." She is finding a balance between here 60 day goals and getting excited about wants that are further out in the future. For her, this process made her wants "touchable, attainable, and real." Some of her wants include becoming a fitness trainer and nutrition advisor catering to folks over 50. She has already made progress in this area that was just a vision 6 months ago.

Seanne realized that "the older I get, the more I realize I don't want to make the mistake of waiting for retirement to do the things I want." Travel is high on her list and she wants to experience as she travels, for example riding a camel, shearing sheep in Australia, visiting the Pyramids in Egypt.

In the process of making the list Barb found that it would be a continual process of adding things and checking things off. The theme of travel carried here, but here a few other Barb wants – "dance at my wedding, see a Broadway show on Broadway."

This is what we are in this group for! We are all positive and excited about our wants. The desire for travel and adventure appears to be a theme throughout.

III. Next Meeting

Our next meeting is scheduled for:
Wednesday, October 10 at 7:30 p.m.

HOMEWORK: As we approach our 60-day goals be prepared to discuss the following:

1. How are you progressing toward your goal?
2. What lessons have you learned in the process?
3. What did you do right?
4. What can you change or do better in the future?
5. What WANTS, if any, have you changed or added during this process?

Gina - other ideas on defining wants

As I was running on the boardwalk yesterday - I was thinking about my relationships and I asked myself if they were what I wanted them to be.

Another idea for defining what I want is to examine all of my important relationships and imagine them just exactly as I want them to be.  I started with my relationship with my son.  I journaled the perfect relationship with my son.  What it would feel like, how every meeting would be, how we would look forward to our time together and why, how we would feel at the end of our visits.  I imagined the looks on our faces as we discussed new ideas, as we challenged each other, as we dreamed together.  It was really cool.  Thought I'd pass it along.  Love, G

Gina - how to define what we want

This is the recap of the ideas we kicked around yesterday as to how to continue to define what we want:

Stay in touch with each other in mini meetings with our small groups

Spend time looking through magazines for pictures and words and phrases that inspire you.  I found it helpful to share those things with Barb and Troy - to further anchor in exactly what I wanted.  For example, playing golf for me represents quiet focus and the peace of being outdoors - so that's really what I want - the golf if just a vehicle to get there.  Then putting together a vision board and placing it somewhere we will see it regularly.

Visit stores for inspiration.  We also suggest visiting a store you like - for me it would be a gardening store.  And then visiting a store I typically wouldn't go into - like Home Depot for me.  This gets me out of my comfort zone and opens me up to new possibility.  Go into the store with the purpose of coming out an hour later inspired by something.  We also thought it might be good to leave our wallets at home!  :-)

List or journal what you love - and be very specific - what you are already happy with - then think of things that would make those already wonderful things even better.

I'm looking forward to our next meeting - we should be nailing that down today, right?  Tks, G

my goal

I want to be happy with myself and truly enjoy every single activity I do in the course of a day - for the sheer pleasure of that activity - and to know that I am 'enough' just as I am.  The time frame is to begin practicing this right now and every time I think of it - to do it.

June 17 - mini WANT meeting

This past Saturday morning Barb, Troy and I (Gina) had a mini WANT club meeting - and a great one it was! It was born of the boring - business focused meeting we had earlier this week. I think the most interesting part is that if we had had a mission statement - a real concrete purpose in place - we wouldn't have had the boring, business focused meeting in the first place! "Now we know one more way it doesn't work" (Thomas Edison said that!) So here are some ideas we came up with:

1) When anyone of us has any need to connect to the club we need to know that we have access to each other.
Suggestion! At least 3 people be involved in a'mini meeting' at any time between official club meetings.
Question! Do we assign different 'mini groups' on a rotating basis - say monthly to insure that we don't get stuck in a comfort zone with the same people and get the benefit of the diversity of the brains of the group, or do we leave it to the individual who they want to include in the mini meeting based on the nature of the topic and who's available?
Question! Do we ask that the members post the results of their 'mini meeting' on our blog so we all stay on the same page?

2) Business items - let's assign these (ex: mission statement, planning the retreats, obtaining a grant) to subgroups who will present their results ot the group in a 15 or 20 minute presentation in a regular club meeting. At the end of that time - if the plan hasn't been ratified by the group it will be resubmitted to the subcommittee for further tweeking and re-presentation at a future regular club meeting. [The remainder of the regular meetings will be focused upon our fulfilling our mission - helping each other get what we want.]

3) We also found that we feel the need to live in our dreams right now - to make our 'wants' and integral part of who we are on a daily basis. Not just a grocery list laying on the kitchen counter.
Suggestion! We say them out loud, journal them, and being excited about them [...as excited as we will be when we have them].

4) We also found that as our 'wants' begin to manifest we find that we need to be more and more specific (Barb has an example at work and I have one for my personal life). We have also found that a general want tends to lead to a deeper, more specific and more meaningful want. Kind of like peeling an onion - only not so stinky! :-)

We'd like your thoughts and ideas on these Tuesday night - does everyone want to do that? Thanks for taking the time -

love, G

More on Mission Stmts

People who want to exchange ideas, information and wisdom with others to enhance quality of life for all members.

Core Values

I was doing some research today and came across this quote..............."To get what you really want, you have to be who you truly are" - Michael Angier
Fairness / Honesty: Being true to yourself and the group. Have the ability to listen to others and to be heard as well. Take the time to understand each other and provide honest support, ideas, and wisdom.
Determination: Once you put your mind to a task, get it on paper, discuss it outloud with yourself and the team, and make the decision to go forward - do not stop until that goal has been achieved. If for some reason help is needed realize you have a strong support group in which to help you attain that dream.
Friendship: The friends (and family) have helped mold you into the unique individual you are today. Friendship of the W.A.N.T. members will always offer their support to the other team members, and value the relationships with respect, understanding, and love.
Doug H.

Core Values

Responsibility:we will be held accountable for our actions. We are exactly who we are today because of the choices we have made in our lives. Others cannot positively or negatively influence us unless we allow it.
Think Outside the Box: we will not allow conventional wisdom to restrict what we desire. Aspirations without borders.
Humility/Gratitude: we are grateful for all of the good fortune in our lives. From our personal relationships to the lifestyle we live to professional endeavors and the freedom to pursue our dreams.

More core values . . .

I gave much thought to the three core values to name here.  As Gina predicted, it is amazing how much they actually coincide with many comments already listed:
1.  Honesty:  We will always be honest in our words as well as our actions and expect the same from others.
2.  Joy/Optimism/Gratitude:  We will recognize our many "blessings" and the thankful for them.  We will find joy in each day and will be positive and optimistic about our journey.
3.  Acceptance/Respect:  We will accept, and even revel in, our many differences and will respect the feelings, needs and desires of others.

Looking forward to Tuesday!

Core values

Integrity – we will be honest, reliable, respectful, ethical, fair and authentic to all.... as well as to ourselves.

Empathy – we will be sensitive to the needs of others by being compassionate, thoughtful, open-minded, willing to understand, and by being good listeners.

(Amazingly, I couldn’t gracefully incorporate the wine-drinking part into the statement)

mission stmt. ideas

I really appreciate all of the work that everyone has put into this. Thank you so much. I've drawn some similarities from many of the ideas that we have submitted and I'll point those out on our call. Cool to see that we are all on the same page! Also, I know that it's important to include our values in this powerful statement. I saw, 'happiness', 'prosperity', 'gratitude' in some of the statements. I believe that our core values announce to the world our code of conduct. Let's touch on those this evening. Thanks again, Love, Gina

Mission Statement

Greetings all! Fantastic work on the website Troy, it is coming along nicely.

Took a nice long ride on my motorcycle to clear my thoughts on saturday to come up with some ideas for the Mission Statement........................not a Mission Statement writer in real life, nor did I stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night but,

Our Mission: To be the catalyst for helping our members achieve their personal and profession w.a.n.t.s through support, determination, perserverance.

See you all tonight!

Mission Statement con't.

You all have provided great wisdom and I agree with the statements so far.  I particularly love the motto - by our thoughts we attract.  Lets consider including something in our mission statement about assisting each other within the membership as well as assisting those outside of our membership who may be in need of our wisdom and inspiration (i.e., giving back).

Looking forward to Monday evening!

Mission Statement idea for WANT

Hi all,

I like Troy’s MS and have added a couple of ideas:

To enrich the lives of our members by collaboratively helping each other to get exactly what we want for the highest good of all concerned.

I like as a motto: “By our thoughts we attract; by our actions we manifest.”

Important for us (and by us, I mean me) to remember that the Source (put your choice of word(s) here: God, the Infinite Intelligence, the Creative Mind, whatever) can only do for us what it does through us, ergo, actions are an essential part of the equation.

Looking forward to our meeting tomorrow night!

Thanks to Troy and Stephanie and all who had a part in creating our terrific website.

Also, I agree with Barb, cool to be in on this at the ground floor!
