June 17 - mini WANT meeting

This past Saturday morning Barb, Troy and I (Gina) had a mini WANT club meeting - and a great one it was! It was born of the boring - business focused meeting we had earlier this week. I think the most interesting part is that if we had had a mission statement - a real concrete purpose in place - we wouldn't have had the boring, business focused meeting in the first place! "Now we know one more way it doesn't work" (Thomas Edison said that!) So here are some ideas we came up with:

1) When anyone of us has any need to connect to the club we need to know that we have access to each other.
Suggestion! At least 3 people be involved in a'mini meeting' at any time between official club meetings.
Question! Do we assign different 'mini groups' on a rotating basis - say monthly to insure that we don't get stuck in a comfort zone with the same people and get the benefit of the diversity of the brains of the group, or do we leave it to the individual who they want to include in the mini meeting based on the nature of the topic and who's available?
Question! Do we ask that the members post the results of their 'mini meeting' on our blog so we all stay on the same page?

2) Business items - let's assign these (ex: mission statement, planning the retreats, obtaining a grant) to subgroups who will present their results ot the group in a 15 or 20 minute presentation in a regular club meeting. At the end of that time - if the plan hasn't been ratified by the group it will be resubmitted to the subcommittee for further tweeking and re-presentation at a future regular club meeting. [The remainder of the regular meetings will be focused upon our fulfilling our mission - helping each other get what we want.]

3) We also found that we feel the need to live in our dreams right now - to make our 'wants' and integral part of who we are on a daily basis. Not just a grocery list laying on the kitchen counter.
Suggestion! We say them out loud, journal them, and being excited about them [...as excited as we will be when we have them].

4) We also found that as our 'wants' begin to manifest we find that we need to be more and more specific (Barb has an example at work and I have one for my personal life). We have also found that a general want tends to lead to a deeper, more specific and more meaningful want. Kind of like peeling an onion - only not so stinky! :-)

We'd like your thoughts and ideas on these Tuesday night - does everyone want to do that? Thanks for taking the time -

love, G
